PENN QUARTER: 'A Day in Japan' at The Source by Wolfgang Puck - November 29

On November 29th The Source by Wolfgang Puck will host “A Day in Japan,” a food and drink party celebrating Japanese food, drink and culture. The restaurant will be closed for dinner service, and the entire space will feature interactive food stations from Executive Chef Russell Smith who will offer a spread of dumpling, ramen, yakitori and more, which will be available alongside tastings of Japanese whiskey and sake. Sushi Chef Hiroyuki “Fuji” Fujino, from Wolfgang Puck’s Five Sixty restaurant in Dallas, TX, who prepares sushi annually for The Oscars, will oversee an elaborate sushi table with fish flown in from Tokyo’s iconic Tsukiji Fish Market – the largest and oldest fish market in the world.

The evening’s food offerings will include:
  • · Tsukiji Fish Market Sashimi & Sushi Station, helmed by Chef Hiroyuki “Fuji” Fujino
  • · Variety of Passed Dumplings
  • · Ramen Station
  • · Takoyaki Station
  • · Yakitori Station
  • · Grilled Kobe Beef Station on the Patio
  • · Variety of Passed Desserts
In addition, guests will enjoy tastes of Japanese whisky, of which the Source has one of the widest selections in the city (about 16, including specialty flights - see full menu here), as well as sake freshly tapped from a barrel after a traditional barrel tasting ceremony. The event runs from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday the 29th of November. Tickets, available for purchase here, cost $85 per person and include all food, drink, tax and gratuity.
