SILVER SPRING: Central Residences Brings Amenity-Rich Living to Downtown Silver Spring

Residents now moving into Grosvenor Americas’ mixed-use property near
retail core and Silver Spring Metro station

Grosvenor Americas, a private property investment and development company, has opened Central, an amenity-rich residential community in downtown Silver Spring. Located directly across the street from the new library, Whole Foods and adjacent to the retail hub of Silver Spring, Central is a short walk from the Silver Spring Metro Station, which provides a 15-minute commute to downtown Washington, DC on the Red Line, and many bus routes.

Central offers a mix of studio, one- and two-bedroom apartment homes, finished in an airy, modern design. Residents will have access to best-in-class amenities, including a pool and sundeck, entertainment lounge, expansive 24-hour fitness center, business lounge with collaborative workspaces, pet spa, three separate and uniquely varied outdoor terraces, an intimate library, and a 24/7 concierge that is available in the grand, industrial chic lobby.

“Silver Spring was overdue for a residence like Central,” said Jon Carr, Senior Vice President of Development for Grosvenor’s D.C. office. “In the past few years this area has stepped out of Washington, DC’s shadow and grown into a hotspot of entertainment, music dining and retail—so we seized an opportunity to create an active and exciting residential offering to complement it. I’m proud of our team at Grosvenor that matched creativity with thoughtful design so this neighborhood can now reach its full potential.”

Central is a six-story LEED Silver mixed-use property that offers 243 rental homes featuring kitchens with quartz countertops, Energy Star® stainless steel appliances, full-size washer and dryer, and special touches such as USB charger outlets and wood-style flooring. Central’s street level will be activated by over 15,000 square feet of retail, wrapping along Fenton Street. Pure Barre and Orangetheory Fitness recently signed leases and will open in early 2018. There is currently 10,000 square feet of retail space available and which Grosvenor seeks equally fresh and exciting tenants to complement the area’s vibrancy.

“Over the last many weeks, several future residents have shared with us their surprise and excitement at the sophistication of our design, features and amenities available at Central, as well as the convenience to Washington DC while enjoying everything Silver Spring has to offer,” said Lauren Younes, Central’s property manager. “We look forward to their arrival and being able to live the dream.”
