RESTON: JBG SMITH Announces New Restaurants and Retailers Coming to RTC-West in Reston

JBG SMITH Properties (NYSE:JBGS), a leading owner of high-quality, mixed-use properties located in the Washington, DC market, announced today that Starbucks, The Black Squirrel and six additional restaurants and retailers will open at RTC-West, a vibrant mixed-use development immediately adjacent to Reston Town Center and planned Metro station on the Silver Line.

“We are excited to bring this collection of restaurants and retailers to RTC-West,” said Jay Klug, EVP of Retail at JBG SMITH. “In keeping with our goal of providing our tenants and the Reston community a diverse option of restaurants and retail, these tenants will enhance an already lively RTC-West.”

Starbucks signed a lease for more than 2,100 square feet. The Black Squirrel, an old-school neighborhood gastropub, has acquired a 3,500-square-foot space. Other retail tenants include Cooper’s Hawk Winery and Restaurant, Nando’s Peri Peri, Mezeh Mediterranean Grill, Forever Nails, Punjabi by Nature, Honeygrow, and BGR The Burger Joint.

The new locations are expected to begin opening this Fall through 2018. RTC-West has now leased approximately 73% of its roughly 40,000 square feet of retail space.

Concurrent with the construction of the retail space, JBG SMITH plans to add public spaces, including parks and enhanced sidewalks to create a more pedestrian friendly environment. The project commenced construction in the fourth quarter of 2015.

RTC-West is an approximately 469,000 square feet, three building office and retail project located in Reston, Virginia, immediately adjacent to Reston Town Center and a planned Metro station.
