RAMW: Summer Restaurant Week Suggestion #10: Rasika, Penn Quarter - August 14 through 18


The Restaurant Association of Metropolitan Washington will host Summer Restaurant Week, August 14-20, inviting participating restaurants to offer three-course lunches for $22 and three-course dinners for $35, excluding tax and gratuity at each location. This bi-annual event invites diners to experience Washington’s top restaurants at an affordable price point.

Rasika Penn Quarter, located at 633 D Street, NW, 20004, offers diners a three-course lunch menu created by Group Executive Chef Vikram Sunderam, which is priced at $22 per person during Restaurant Week. Appetizer options include Karwari Scallop with bay scallops, red chili, tamarind and Karwari chutney; Lamb Kathi Roll, tandoori lamb with roti and mint chutney; Palak Chaat, crispy baby spinach with sweet yogurt, tamarind and date chutney, and Ragda Pattice, spiced potatoes, chickpeas, tamarind date and mint chutney. Tempting entrées include Grouper Kerala Curry with coconut, Kashmiri chili and mustard seeds; Lamb Badami Korma with almonds, caramelized onions and saffron; Kadai Murgh with roasted coriander seeds, red chilies and ginger, as well as the Vegetable Thali with palak paneer, vegetable patia and dal makhani. All entrées are served with basmati rice, naan or mint paratha. To complete the meal, guests can select one of the five featured desserts including Chocolate Cinnamon Ice Cream; Tropical Fruit Sorbet; Gulab Jamun with ice cream; Bread Butter Pudding, and Indian Rice Kheer

Rasika’s Restaurant Week menu will be available from August 14-18, only during lunch service. The Lunch is served Monday through Friday, from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
