DUPONT: Pizzeria Paradiso August Beer Events - Starts August 2nd


Pizzeria Paradiso Beer Director Drew McCormick has planned a lineup of beer-centric events throughout the month of August, including a celebration of Mead, an ice cream and beer float party featuring custom pairings with Ice Cream Jubilee, and a History & Hops event with Heurich House and DC Brau.

Mead Day – August 2,   Dupont Location

On Wednesday, August 2, Pizzeria Paradiso in Dupont will feature a selection of Meads – a fermented beverage made with honey and water, sometimes incorporating fruits, spices, grains or hops. Throughout the day, Pizzeria Paradiso will offer B.Nektar’s Kill All the Golfers ($10 for 9oz) on tap and three different bottled options including Moonlight Meadery’s Uptopian #9 ($14 for 2oz) and Smitten ($8 for 4oz), as well as the Charm City Hops mead ($8 for 12oz).

DC Brau Heurich Lager – August 2-8,  Dupont & Georgetown Locations

In collaboration with Heurich House, Pizzeria Paradiso in Dupont will host a History & Hops event on August 3 highlighting brews from DC Brau. At both the Dupont and Georgetown locations, Pizzeria Paradiso will offer DC Brau’s Corruption, El Jefe and Penn Quarter Porter on draft, as well as the Heurich Lager, making it the first restaurant in DC to carry this brew. Representatives from DC Brau will be present, as well as staff from Heurich House who will be displaying artifacts for guests to observe while enjoying the historic lager. Additionally, at Dupont only, Pizzeria Paradiso will bring back its spent grain crust from August 2-8.
DC Beer Week Ice Cream Jubilee Patio Party – August 26, Dupont Location

Join Pizzeria Paradiso and Ice Cream Jubilee for a patio party in celebration of DC Beer Week with four special beer and ice cream pairings. Flavor combinations will include pairs like lavender, honey and lemon ice cream with Liefmans Fruitesse – a fresh, light and fruity summer beer. Ice Cream Jubilee has also created custom flavors to complement select beers, including Jim Beam Bourbon Spiced Peach ice cream to go alongside the Allagash Curieux, and barley chocolate chip ice cream to pair with Burial Skillet Donut – a creamy oatmeal stout. Guests will have the option of purchasing a flight, which will include four mini floats with each beer and ice cream pairing. Pizzeria Paradiso Beer Director Drew McCormick, as well as representatives from Ice Cream Jubilee will be present to talk guests through each beer and ice cream combination. The event will begin at 11:30 a.m. and will continue while supplies last.
