Return to Stillness, Eleanor Kotlarik Wang.
In this series, the artist explores the complexity of tai chi footwork focusing on movements and stances which both begin and end the exercise form. Formal analysis gives way to winding meanderings in the lines that connect the movements of physical and creative energy. ___________________________________________________________________

Pillars, Jo Levine. Photograph, 2016-2017.
The “Details” in Jo Levine’s photography show are components of art objects and buildings in the Washington area and elsewhere. As a photographer, she finds that focusing on part of a larger image can create something new and different out of what would otherwise be an unremarkable photo – perhaps demonstrating, as architects like to say, that “God is in the details.” Levine hopes that her photos will inspire viewers to look more closely at the intriguing shapes and patterns in the world around them.

In addition to the Studio Gallery, Levine is a juried member of the Middle Street Gallery in Rappahannock County, Virginia. Her work has been recognized with awards by distinguished jurors and solo shows at the Glenview Mansion Art Gallery in Rockville, Maryland, and the Glen Manor Winery in Front Royal, Virginia. Levine’s photos have also been selected for numerous juried art exhibitions in the DC metropolitan area.
