WASHINGTON DC: Thanksgiving and Small Business Saturday (with Erik Bruner Yang) at Astro Doughnuts

Astro Doughnuts & Fried Chicken’s Thanksgiving mini doughnuts, along with a “Dine Small” event in partnership with American Express for Small Business Saturday®, where Astro will partner with Erik Bruner Yang on a Chinese-style pastrami doughnut sandwich.

Astro Doughnuts & Fried Chicken will offer a special edition box of Thanksgiving minis for $22, which will include:
  • 2 Pecan Pie mini doughnuts * bourbon butterscotch glaze, butterscotch drizzle, candied pecans, toasted pie crust crumble
  • 2 Sweet Potato mini doughnuts *filled with sweet potato pastry cream filling, pumpkin spice glaze and toasted mini marshmallows
  • 2 Cranberry Orange mini doughnuts * cranberry orange glaze, diced dried cranberries, diced candied orange peels
  • 2 Vanilla glazed mini doughnuts (with Fall sprinkles)
  • 2 Crème Brûlée mini doughnuts
  • 2 Maple Bacon mini doughnuts

Thanksgiving minis will be available on November 22 and 23 at both the Downtown Washington, DC and Falls Church locations, and on November 24 in Falls Church. **The doughnuts are also available for pre-order at www.astrodoughnuts.com, which is highly encouraged. The Washington, DC store will close at 3:00 p.m. on November 23 and will be closed on Thanksgiving Day. The Falls Church store will be open from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day. 

Small Business Saturday with The Infatuation

On Saturday, November 26, Astro Doughnuts & Fried Chicken will team up with American Express to celebrate Small Business Saturday® with a special “Dine Small” offering. As part of the promotion, Astro will serve a special, limited menu between 3:00 and 6:00 p.m., where they’ll preview holiday doughnuts, inspired by popular holiday cookies, which will be available throughout the month of December. In addition, the doughnut and chicken shop will partner with Chef Erik Bruner-Yang of Maketto on a Chinese-style pastrami doughnut sandwich. Details include: 

  • Collaboration sandwich with Bruner-Yang “An American Story” ($9.50): Chinese brined pastrami, fermented cabbage, and lemon glaze with caraway seeds on a doughnut.
  • Chocolate peppermint bark doughnut ($3.10): chocolate cake doughnut, chocolate glaze, candy cane crunch, Hershey chocolate kiss;
  • Eggnog doughnut ($3.10): Bourbon vanilla pastry cream filling, nutmeg glaze
  • Gingerbread pear doughnut ($3.10): pear compote filling, Gingersnap glaze, gingerbread cookie crumble.
