“I have always enjoyed sharing my passion for sake by educating the public on the basic knowledge of sake, history of sake, progression of sake brewing methods, and the difference between mass volume produced sake by established breweries vs micro-brewed and smaller handcrafted sake producing breweries”, said Christian Choi. “So I’m extremely excited to be able to collaborate with Sushiko and their talented team on this exclusive tasting event which will also serve as the perfect way to launch their newly revamped selection of premium sake's available at the restaurant. It’s through personable and interactive events like these tastings that I’m able to share in depth background on sake culture and the proper ways to enjoy sake from varying degrees of temperature that sake is served to the different vessels to serve sake in ranging from wooden masa to beautiful artisan handmade glasses. In 18 years, I have trained and educated many novice sake lovers including restaurants, wine store staff, bar teams, and servers working in DC. MD, VA, and PA. I have done countless sake tastings, sake pairing dinners, and sake events from intimate settings in collaboration with the Smithsonian to grand sake tastings at Carnegie Library. My passion for sake has also allowed me to help raise funds for important causes and events including The Cherry Blossom Festival Association, among others. “
