LOGAN: Masa 14 Debuts A New Omakase Experience This Summer

Masa 14, Richard Sandoval and Kaz Okochi's global dining destination restaurant on 14th Street, NW, is unveiling a new menu that showcases the best of summer. Masa 14's is also introducing an Omakase experience, where guests will be treated to an expansive feast of hand-selected dishes prepared by Chef de Cuisine Ryan Ratino, who brings a progressive culinary style to the restaurant’s kitchen.  Masa 14's Omakase experience is priced at $40 per person (tax and gratuity not included) with a minimum of three plates per guest. It is available Sunday, from 3 p.m. to 11 p.m.; Monday through Thursday, from 4 p.m. until 11 p.m.; Friday and Saturday, from 3 p.m. to 12 Midnight

Diners can anticipate new summer menu items including Watermelon Crudo with black sesame, yuzu, lime, and jalapeno; Cobia Sashimi with tomato dashi, charred scallion, puffed rice and cucumber; Yellowfin Tuna with ginger soy vinaigrette, hearts of palm, watercress and orange; Chicken Wings with nuoc cham, peanut, five spice, scallion and chili; Pork Belly with green curry, dirty rice, Old Bay and herb salad; Steak Fried Rice with corn kimchi, 62° egg and grilled mushroom; Oysters with cucumber, melon and chili; Diver Scallop with edamame dumpling, charred corn and truffle popcorn; Miso Cubano with country ham, Serrano, miso mustard and comte cheese; Crispy Shrimp with yuzu kosho aioli, wasabi and Tso’s sauce; Yucca Fries with red curry aioli, eel sauce and bonita; Octopus Lo Mein with squid ink lo mein, caponata, burnt bread and herb pesto; Soft Shell Crab with red curry, chili xo, mint and shiso salad and coconut; Crispy Calamari with sweet chili, Thai basil and aji amarillo aioli; Bulgogi Beef Lettuce Wrap with smoked mushroom, pickled lychee, flat iron and carrot, and Korean Fried Chicken with miso lotus root, pickles and Korean BBQ.  New menu items range in price from $8 to $15.

For the perfect pairing guests can cool down and sip on craft cocktails created by National Beverage Director Rob Day.  Highlights include Masa Mule with Tito’s vodka, pineapple-rosemary shrub, simple syrup, ginger and fresh rosemary; Cucumber Delight with Kettle One vodka, ginger, lemon, cantaloupe and cucumber; Newton's Law with Tanqueray gin, fresh lime and green apple; Hibiscus Rickey with Bluecoat gin, hibiscus, brown sugar, mint and lime; Rose Bullet with Bulleit Rye, rose water syrup, Angostura bitters and rosemary; Tamarind Fizz with Sao Paolo Cachaca, egg white, cilantro, fresh lime, agave and Jarritos tamarind, and the M & M with mezcal, rosemary, cucumber puree, fresh lime, agave and Jarritos mandarin.  Cocktails range in price from $8 to $14.

The rooftop level is open Sunday through Thursday, from 4 p.m. to 2 a.m., Friday and Saturday, from 4 p.m. to 3 a.m. 
Happy Hour on the rooftop is available daily, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. 
An unlimited prix fixe brunch is available Saturday and Sunday, from 10 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. on all levels.
