WEST END: Blue Duck Tavern Introduces New Seasonals Menu for Mothers Day

Chef de Cuisine Brad Deboy at the award-winning Blue Duck Tavern, located on the corner of 24th and M Streets, NW,  is introducing new seasonal, American classics to the restaurant’s Mother’s Day menu. 
Brunch will be offered from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, May 8th and the menu will be priced at $110 per person for adults, and $55 for children between six and 12.  Children under the age of five are complimentary.
The three-course, fixed-price menu begins with a choice of starters, including seasonal salads, meats, breads and cheeses, on display throughout the open kitchen. Guests will have a choice of entrĂ©e and sides from the special menu.  Highlights include  
  • Strawberry Belgian Waffle with ricotta, almonds and mint
  • Short Rib Hash with duck egg and horseradish
  • Spring Oat Risotto with poached egg, spring vegetables and goat cheese
  • Maine Lobster Ravioli with a shellfish emulsion
  • Wood-Fired Duck Breast Confit with strawberry-rhubarb mostarda
  • Jumbo Lump Crab Cakes with Meyer lemon aioli and pea shoots.  
Brunch concludes with seasonal desserts, which are on display in the pastry pantry. 

For the perfect pairing Moms can indulge in brunch cocktails such as  
  • Fresh Squeezed Mimosa with Crement
  • Traditional Bloody Mary with Russian Standard vodka 
  • Chesapeake Caesar with Clamato juice and Old Bay
  • The Regent with seasonal jam, Plymouth gin and lemon
  • Iquacu with carrot-infused Leblon Cachaça, lime and ginger simple
  • Copper Jack with Buffalo Trace bourbon, lime, mint and ginger beer.  
Cocktails are priced at $15 each.  

In addition, a collection of chocolate flowers created by Park Hyatt Washington’s Pastry Chef David Collier, will be mixed with real flowers and on display in the pastry pantry throughout the weekend.
