BLACK RESTAURANT GROUP TO RE-OPEN ADDIE’S RESTAURANT 

Foulger-Pratt’s Park Potomac Development to be new home of Addie’s

Black Restaurant Group, LLC (BRG) is excited to announce the reopening of Addie’s Restaurant. BRG has signed a 20-year lease with local developer, Foulger-Pratt, and the restaurant will open in the upcoming Park Potomac Development, located at 12435 Park Potomac Avenue in Potomac, Md.

Chef/owners Barbara and Jeff Black opened the original Addie’s in 1995. Named after Jeff Black’s grandmother, Addie’s operated in a small converted house on Rockville Pike for 18 years. The restaurant became a beloved neighborhood staple in an area that was then lacking dining options. This is where many of Black Restaurant Group’s iconic dishes, such as the namesake Addie’s mussels originated, and where many of their leading chefs, general managers and servers started before growing within the company. When the restaurant closed in November 2013, Jeff Black intended to re-open it as soon as he found the right space. 

“I’m asked almost every week, ‘when are you reopening Addie’s”, said Black. “I’ve been looking tirelessly for the right space, and while we can’t resurrect it in it’s original form I’m excited to bring back the spirit of Addie’s to Park Potomac.”

Many of Addie’s old favorites will find a place on the new menu. As Black always looks to family for inspiration, there will also be some vegan items in a nod to his two sons, Simon and Oliver, both of whom are vegan.

The 4,000 square foot space will evoke an indoor-outdoor, organic feel, which made Addie’s a popular spot for al fresco dining throughout the spring, summer and fall months. The new Addie’s will also feature a full raw bar and cocktail bar. BRG has tapped Philadelphia based BoxWood Architects for the design.

Black Restaurant Group has not announced an opening date, but further information on an opening timeline, chef de cuisine, menu and design details will be shared once finalized.
