RESTAURANT WEEK DC: Suggestion #17 - The Majestic Cafe

The Majestic Cafe, located at 911 King Street, in Old Town,  will present guests with special Restaurant Week offerings for lunch and dinner.

Hungry lunch-goers can enjoy The Majestic Cafe’s classic dishes with a Southern twist from Executive Chef Lisa Marie Frantz by choosing from the Lunch for One or Lunch for Two menus. Lunch for One features two courses, including a choice of a starter or a dessert, as well as an entrée, while Lunch for Two consists of three courses, and includes a shared starter, choice of an entrée selection for each guest, followed by a shared dessert.
 Both Restaurant Week lunch options are priced at $15 per person (tax and gratuity not included) and can be enjoyed Monday through Friday, from 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.  Standout starters include Roasted Jalapeno & Cheddar Cornbread with local wildflower honey butter; Blistered Okra & Cherry Peppers with lemon and parmesan, as well as Red Hot Peanut Pork Candy with roasted pork belly, Virginia peanuts and hot honey.  Entrée choices are just as enticing and include Baby Kale Chopped Salad, choice of grilled salmon, fried chicken, grilled chicken, or blackened shrimp with local baby kale, roasted Belmont peanuts, apples, feta, golden raisins, avocado and sweet mustard dressing; Sliders, Creekstone Farms brisket-short rib blend with oak shade horseradish cheddar cheese, founder's porter bacon jam, mixed greens and Old Bay aioli, served with hand-cut fries; Steak Tacos, grilled Creekstone Farms skirt steak, avocado salsa, fried onions, chipotle mayo, cilantro, served on flour tortillas with hand-cut fries, or the Shrimp & Grits, pan roasted gulf shrimp, Anson Mills speckled grits and low country gravy.  For dessert, guests can opt for the Moorenkos Ice Cream, Sorbet or The Majestic Coconut Cake.

For dinner, The Majestic Cafe will offer a Dinner for One menu featuring a choice of starter or dessert, a second course dish of the guest’s choice, followed by one entrée selection from the featured menu.  The Dinner for Two menu includes a shared starter, one second course item per guest, one entrée per guest, followed by a shared dessert.  Both Restaurant Week dinner menus are priced at $35 per person (tax and gratuity not included) and are served Sunday through Thursday, from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m., Friday and Saturday, from 4 p.m. to 11 p.m.  First and second course options include Baked Pimento Cheese Dip with sharp cheddar, pimientos and grilled baguette; Red Hot Peanut Pork Candy with roasted pork belly, Virginia peanuts and hot honey; Bacon-Cheese Tots, hand-made jumbo tater tots with crumbled bacon and white cheddar cheese sauce; Soup of the Day; Old Town Caesar with chopped romaine, smoked trout Caesar dressing, fried grits croutons, Surryano Virginia ham and Oak Shade horseradish cheddar, as well as the Cauliflower Risotto with parmesan breadcrumbs and white anchovy oil.

Standout entrées include Shrimp & Grits, pan roasted gulf shrimp, Anson Mills speckled grits and low country gravy; Grilled Salmon with a maple-peach glaze and roasted Brussels sprouts; Fried Chicken & Martha's Buttermilk Biscuit with choice of white or dark meat and collard greens, as well as The Majestic Burger, Creekstone Farms brisket-short rib blend with oak shade horseradish cheddar cheese, Founder's Porter bacon jam, mixed greens and Old Bay aioli, served with hand-cut fries.

For dessert, guests can choose from the same dessert menu as lunch with the addition of a Flourless Chocolate Cake.

The Majestic Cafe has extended Restaurant Week to run from Monday, January 25th through Thursday, February 11th
