PENN QTR: Valentine's at the Source by Wolfgang Puck Lasts 3 Day's

While Scott Drewno and the Source by Wolfgang Puck will be busy celebrating Chinese New Year between February 8 and 19, the team will mark Valentine’s Day with a special weekend long brunch as well as a couple’s tasting menu on February 12, 13 and 14.

Brunch will be served both Saturday and Sunday from 11:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and will feature some of Drewno’s most popular menu items, such as crystal chive dumplings with Red Wattle pork and Maryland crab; duck bao buns; and roast pork fried rice. Guests can also expect to find Valentine’s Day specials on the menu such as the Wagyu steak frites or the tempura lobster benedict topped with yuku kosho hollandaise, followed by the “Chocolate Four Play” dessert, a molten cake with strawberry, sorbet and truffle. Special brunch cocktails will also be served, including a “V-Day Mary,” a twist on a Bloody Mary featuring a chilled oyster and kimchi mignonette.

The festivities will continue into the night with chef Drewno's Valentine’s Day five-course Couple’s Tasting Menu, which will be served on Friday and Saturday night alongside the regular a la carte menu. On Sunday evening, only the Couple’s Tasting Menu will be available in the restaurant. Each menu item within each course is meant to complement the other, beginning with Black Opal caviar and a scallion flower roll. The meal continues with the “I Like the Way You Roll” course with O-Toro, Yusheng and a lobster tempura and avocado roll. Dim sum, appropriately translating to “from the heart,” will be served for the second course with Littleneck clams and fermented chili bean and pork and chive dumplings served with smoked soy. For the third course, Drewno offers a Sichuan bacon-wrapped black sturgeon alongside a rice flour battered loup de mer. The next course, dubbed “Opposites Attract,” features a cumin chili dusted NY strip and a whole Maine lobster. The fifth and final course includes an orange blossom sorbet along with the “Chocolate Four Play” dessert and passion fruit panna cotta. The entire menu is priced at $155 per person with the option of wine pairing for an additional $65 per guest.

The Valentine’s Day celebrations will coincide with The Source’s Chinese New Year tasting menu, which spans from February 8th through the 19th. On February 14, the restaurant will only offer the Couple’s Tasting menu for dinner. The Chinese New Year and regular a la carte menus will return Monday, February 15.
