WASHINGTON DC: 2 New Beers at Capitol City Brewing Company

Wake up and smell the coffee this Black Friday with Black Beer. Black Friday 2015 marks the annual return of
Capitol City’s Imperial Coffee Stout Fuel – a pitch black beer brewed with flaked oats, chocolate malt and roasted
barley, moderately hopped with Perles, and blended with freshly roasted coffee from Arlington’s Rappahannock Coffee. Capitol City’s Director of Brewing Operations, Kristi Griner, plans to tap Fuel: Imperial Coffee Stout, on November 24 in Shirlington and on Black Friday, November 27 in DC. The seasonal brew will be served in a snifter glass. The Imperial Coffee Stout will be available at both Capitol City Brewing Company locations for the duration of the winter season through March.
Snifter glasses will be lining Capitol City’s bar counters this holiday season. In the first week of December, Capitol City will tap its Batch 3000 Barleywine. Since 1997 when Capitol City first opened, it had produced just under 2,500 barrels of beer annually. Capitol City brewers - current and alumni - crafted the recipe that is now ready to be tapped. The milestone brew weighs in at a hefty 10.07% ABV and features notes of dried fruit with a nice balance of earthy hops and specialty malt. Batch 3000 will be served in a limited edition commemorative snifter for a limited time - it’s a single batch beer at each location, get it while it lasts!
