THE WHARF: The Wharf Debuts High-Tech Pump-Out Vessel

Joanne Goodwin, Grants Officer for Department of Energy & Environment, joined Matthew Steenhoek, Vice President of Development at PN Hoffman, and J Nickerson from Gangplank Marina to test the new pump-out vessel in the Washington Channel.

Hoffman-Madison Waterfront, developer of The Wharf, announced today through its marina, Gangplank Marina, that they have begun testing a grant-funded, high-tech pump-out vessel that offers the D.C. boating community another means to be environmental stewards of the region’s waterways.

Joanne Goodwin, Grants Officer for Department of Energy & Environment, joined Matthew Steenhoek, Vice President of Development at PN Hoffman, aboard the new pump-out vessel at The Wharf’s Gangplank Marina.

The boat, partially funded through the Clean Vessel Act Grant Program, a Sport Fish Restoration program offered by the District Department of the Environment for the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, will offer service to popular anchorages in D.C. waterways, including the Washington Channel, Georgetown and Three Sisters during the boating season in addition to on-call service year round to moored vessels. Pump-out service will be offered free of charge by The Wharf’s Gangplank Marina.
