WASHINGTON DC: Fair Chance Gears up for Butterfly Bash 2015 - Tommy McFly to Emcee Evening’s Festivities

Fair Chance is in preparations for its highly anticipated Butterfly Bash fundraising celebration this November. The nonprofit organization committed to improving the lives of children in DC’s most underserved communities will host its annual Fair Chance Butterfly Bash on Friday, November 6 at 7:00 p.m. at the National Museum of Women in the Arts.

This year’s event will honor Catherine Merrill Williams, President and Publisher of Washingtonian Media, for her dedication to youth-serving nonprofits in Washington. Morning talk show host of 94.7 Fresh FM’s The Tommy Show and host of the entertainment news segment The McFly Report on WUSA9 Tommy McFly has been tapped as this year’s event emcee.

“Fair Chance strengthens the sustainability and performance of community-based nonprofits to achieve life-changing results for children and youth living in poverty,” says Executive Director Gretchen Van der Veer. “Since 2002 we have worked with over 90 nonprofits in DC serving a collective 80,000 children and youth. Because of Fair Chance, these organizations are able to increase the number of children they serve and revenues raised by 50%. Fair Chance is a cost-effective way to multiply positive results for children and youth in our city’s most underserved neighborhoods.”
The Fair Chance Butterfly Bash will welcome more than 700 guests and 50 corporate sponsors for an evening of cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, live music and dancing.
