I Like Beau Thai - Beau Thai is Cool

It's a month since the new location of the popular Beau Thai restaurant opened at Jefferson Marketplace in Shaw, this was my first visit (but not my last).
Beau Thai is a chic, Asian-Industrial designed that welcomes you in. The tables are specially milled wood, the chairs re-purposed school chairs (that partner Ralph Brabham tells me they bought at auction in Ohio) The walls are adorned with oversize Vigsittaboot family photographs and the bar is polished concrete. The restaurant seats 72, and also has a dedicated pick up counter if you can't stay.

But Beau Thai is not only about the look! As many of the restaurants customers will tell you - this is one of the best Thai restaurants in DC (2013 & 14 Washington City Paper / 2014 Washington Post)....and last week DCist put Beau Thai's Drunken Noodles on their 8 Best Noodle Dishes in DC.
DRUNKEN NOODLES FROM BEAU THAI: It was my love of a good pun that first drew me to this spot's Shaw location, but it's the drunken noodles that keep me going back for more. Turns out that this spicy noodle dish isn't even originally Thai, but actually a Chinese-inspired dish brought over by transplants who were living in Thailand and Laos. Regardless of where it came from, Beau Thai's take on this classic has substantial kick and a nice mix of fresh veggies. Carnivores can order the noodles with chicken, beef, pork or shrimp, but I'm partial to the fried tofu with its chewy, but firm texture. —Victoria Finkle
You can check out the full menu here and then get over to 7th Street NW and enjoy.

The Bar is bigger enough to host just about any gathering, seating 24 and offering, with the exception of Singha, all brews on tap from the DMV, as are the bottled and canned. Beau Thai also has a seasonally changing cocktail list, including a handful of rotating house infusions. A great place to hang out during Happy Hour, well, just about any time actually.

So now you understand why I will be going back to Beau Thai, great space, great food and a great bar.
