Top Women Chefs and Mixologists Unite to End Domestic Violence

WASHINGTON. (Sept. 19, 2014) - Presented by Google and The Allstate Foundation, the National Network to End Domestic Violence is, once again, partnering with top women chefs and mixologists to bring Chefs Take a Stand to our nation's capital this fall. This NNEDV one-of-a-kind event combines three ingredients Washingtonians simply cannot pass up: top-notch food, creative cocktails, and an important social cause.
Chefs Take a Stand will be held on October 9, 2014 at 7 p.m. at the Carnegie Library in Washington, D.C. (801 K St., N.W.), and will celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Violence Against Women Act VAWA is groundbreaking legislation that has made a positive difference in victims' lives since 1994. VAWA has changed the way our society responds to the crime of domestic violence and helped keep survivors and their families safer -- which is really something to celebrate.
The evening will be hosted by Carla Hall, celebrity chef and co-host of ABC's The Chew. She will also be auctioning off some fabulous items later in the evening.
Chefs Take a Stand will feature multiple chef stations -- staffed by DC's finest -- where guests will be sampling each chef or mixologist's featured taste or sip for the evening.
