Astro Doughnuts Celebrates Two Major Events in June

This month Astro Doughnuts & Fried Chicken will celebrate two events of  National importance. First on June 6th with National Doughnut Day and then (and throughout June) the USA Mens National (soccer) Football Team represents us all in the 2014 FIFA World Cup, in Brazil, beginning June 16th for the USA Team. Obviously both of great importance, Astro has created two events to match these National days of joy. read on.......

National Doughnut Day at Astro
This Friday, June 6, is National Doughnut Day and Astro Doughnuts & Fried Chicken will celebrate with a "Strawberry Chocolate" doughnut – 100% of the sales will benefit the Fisher House Foundation**. Available for $3 each, only 200 of the "Strawberry Chocolate" doughnuts will be available in the store (a limited quantity will be available on the Astro food truck), which will be a seasonal strawberry yeast doughnut with a chocolate drizzle. A donation jar collecting funds for Fisher House will also be in the store. Traditionally, National Doughnut Day honors the women who served doughnuts to soldiers during World War I, and celebrations on this day often have ties to the military.

**The Fisher House Foundation is best known for the network of comfort homes built on the grounds of major military and VA medical centers nationwide and in Europe. Fisher Houses are beautiful homes, donated to the military and Department of Veterans Affairs, and the homes enable family members to be close to loved ones during hospitalization for a combat injury, illness or disease.

USA Doughnut Back for the World Cup…
Making its debut during the 2014 Winter Olympics, the 'USA Doughnut' is back by popular demand for this year's World Cup. The patriotic doughnut, a vanilla glaze confection with raspberry drizzle, blueberries and the letters USA piped in chocolate, will be available for $2.50 on the days when the U.S. plays: June 16, 22 and 26

**If the team advances out of the group stage, Astro will continue to serve the doughnut on game days. If the U.S. pulls off a win, Astro will also give out 32 doughnuts, one each, to the first people who come into the store after a win; 32 represents the number of participating countries. The USA doughnut will be available in the store, with limited quantities on the food truck. **If the U.S. wins, the giveaways will only be done in the store and not on the truck.
