Video: Marriott Marquis Washington DC "Marquis Moment"
New(ish) Video (published Jan 27, 2014) from the folks at the Marriott Marquis...This 'episode' takes a look at the lobby artwork. There are 5 large sculptures/installations, all created by Baltimore artist Artist Rodney Carroll, and the video covers 4 of them.
I covered the "heavy lifting" part of the installation of "The Birth of the American Flag" and have followed the hotel's build-out since its ground-breaking, there are a number of articles and photo-galleries on the Badwolfdc blog.
The video, which, in my opinion, is the weakest to date, states that the installation of the art-works are still incomplete, I spoke to artist Rodney Carroll last week, and he confirmed that this is the case, but that there is no doubt that all will be completed on time.
