The Salvation Army National Capitol Area Command is marking the local observance of National Salvation Army Week with an exhibit from April 30 to May 16, 2013 at the PEPCO Edison Place Gallery in downtown DC, at 702 8th Street NW. Others is an exposition of photographs exploring The Salvation Army's legacy and impact in the nations capitol.

Others focuses on the development of The Salvation Army in the United States, while providing an in depth look at the individuals the organization supports and serves in the Washington DC region. The exhibit's more than 3 dozen historical and contemporary images underscore the growth of The Salvation Army in World War I and II, the involvement of the First Ladies of the US and photographs of the present-day services provided by the organization.

This is not a large exhibit, but certainly one that you should drop by and view. This is another way of showing your support for such a worthy institution, who support all those in DC that need assistance.

The exhibit is open Tuesday - Friday 12 noon till 4 pm.

"The Salvation Army National Capital Area Command assists individuals and families throughout the year by providing a diverse range of social services.  They include feeding for the hungry, victim disaster relief, assistance for the disabled, outreach to the elderly and ill, clothing and shelter to the homeless and opportunities for underprivileged children."
